D4 Enterprise lanzará EGGCONSOLE MIRAI PC-8801MmkIISR en Nintendo Switch este 1ro de mayo de 2025, a través de la serie de relanzamientos de juegos clásicos titulada ‘EGGCONSOLE’. Estará disponible por US$6.49/€5,39/880 yenes.
Mirai es un RPG de acción de vista lateral y con temática de ciencia ficción, desarrollado por Sein-Soft, y lanzado en 1986 para la PC-8801. El título se sitúa en una época distante, donde la humanidad ha tenido que emigrar al espacio. Uno de los objetivos es asentarse en la nébula Reinbow, un lugar que abarca seis diferentes tipos de planetas, gobernados por una fuerza hostil.
El jugador toma control de un personaje que porta una mochila cohete (jetpack), con el fin de atravesar entre aquellos entornos en forma de laberinto y disparar a los enemigos desde la distancia, teniendo a disposición una cantidad limitada de combustible. Por otro lado, también el juego cuenta con zonas subterráneas, cambiando el combate a uno de cuerpo contra cuerpo. El objetivo será llegar a un pasadiso subterráneo o al final de un nivel para encontrar al jefe y derrotarle, para así pasar a la siguiente zona.
Aunque la galaxia cuenta con alienígenas hostiles, también se pueden encontrar con alienígenas amigables en tiendas, que ofrecerán al jugador armas y objetos a cambio de dinero, el cual puede ser conseguido al derrotar a los varios enemigos que se encuentran en el mapa. No obstante, dada a la escasez de estas zonas, sumado a la necesidad de estar pendiente del tanque de combustible, será una tarea para el jugador el poder manejar los recursos adecuadamente en su travesía.
Mirai recibió algunos lanzamientos para PC-9801, la Sharp X1 y MSX, entre 1986 y 1987, donde en algunas ocasiones, la compañía se presenta bajo otro nombre (XAIN Soft). Las versiones del juego para PC-8801mkIISR y MSX2 recibieron relanzamientos a través del Project Egg para dispositivos Windows en noviembre de 2020 y noviembre de 2022, respectivamente.

Human life on Earth had been wiped out, forcing humanity to migrate to space. The fate of the next migration was entrusted to the REINBOW Nebula. However, the REINBOW Nebula consisted of six planets with completely different environments, all ruled by a single governing planet—and they viewed humanity as an absolute enemy. As time flowed, a mysterious soldier raced through the unknown. When he laid eyes on an armored suit with five radiant lights, his destiny was forever changed.

This is an action RPG originally released in 1986 in Japan. Players take on the role of the aforementioned mysterious soldier and embark on an adventure across six planets.
The game features a side-view action RPG format, where each planet consists of two stages: an aerial stage with a shooting-based playstyle and an underground stage where hand-to-hand combat and action mechanics come into play. Key locations, such as underground entrances and the end of each stage, feature formidable boss battles. By uncovering their weaknesses, players can experience thrilling and tense encounters.
The game’s difficulty is notably high. In aerial combat, running out of fuel causes health to gradually deplete, and when it reaches zero, it’s game over. Thus, managing fuel stations as central bases for resupply is essential. On stages where refueling isn’t possible, players must carefully select a low-power thruster to conserve fuel. Proper fuel management is a critical technique for survival. Additionally, some stages lack shops altogether, making it crucial to stock up on necessary items beforehand.
